Polarity
What is it. Polarity therapy is a type of energy work that focuses on balancing the negative and positive poles of the body. Energy fields and currents exist in the body and everywhere in nature. When these energy fields become unbalanced, pain and disease are the result. Polarity therapy is a system of holistic health that involves bodywork, diet, exercise and self-awareness.
History. Polarity therapy was invented by Dr. Randolph Stone, DC, DO, ND in the middle of the twentieth century based on a combination of western and eastern healing methods.
What is a typical session like. A typical session is 60 to 90 minutes long. The client is usually clothed and light pressure and rocking is applied to the opposing poles of the body to bring them into balance. The client can experience sensations of warmth, tingling, wave-like movement, and profound relaxation.
Training and certification. Training can vary from a weekend workshop to 450 hours of training for full certification.
